Principal's Message
Dear North Shore Families,
It is a great privilege to introduce myself as Principal of North Shore Elementary School (NSES). As we begin the 2022-2023 school year, I would like to take the moment to welcome students and families to a year of ambition and hope. It is the commitment of students, families and staff that carries our school forward and embraces the traditions North Shore holds so dear.
Students are the reason North Shore staff come to school and the reason we work tirelessly to provide an engaging and challenging atmosphere that brings out the best in every student. The staff at North Shore are committed to ensuring that our school provides a safe learning environment where student ideas, concerns, and goals are facilitated and embraced. This learning environment is built on the principals of being responsible, respectful, and safe everyday!
Our hope this year is that we see a return of North Shore’s engaging enrichment programs while providing learning support for all students. We want to encourage the participation of all students in our long established performing arts programs and expand student interests as we embrace StemScopes, our new science curriculum.
While ambitiously engaging students in the activities that make students excited to come to school, we know that these things only occur when we are supported by the families that make these things possible. We want to invite all families to participate in our Eagle Boosters and to become routine volunteers in our classrooms and on our playground. Parent involvement is encouraged and invited!
At North Shore we want you to know what we are planning, how your student is growing, and when we need your support. This happens when we make communication a priority. Please reachout to your students' teacher routinely with successes, concerns, and encouragements. I also want to maintain an open connection with all families to ensure the best possible learning opportunities for your students. Please do not hesitate to communicate with me and share in our school community.
To ensure students make the most of this school year I ask that you look over our school calendar closely and plan for your student to attend class as much as possible. Giving your students the best opportunity to succeed comes from strong attendance, regular communication, family participation, and ambitious goal setting. I look forward to everything this year holds and the shining of every Superstar who calls North Shore home!
Sincerely,
Kevin Phillips,
Principal
